Shuping Sunflowers
People come from all over to enjoy the rows of towering yellow flowers—from families stopping by with their children to couples visiting for stunning engagement photos. Thousands have roamed these sunflower fields and it makes the Shupings incredibly happy that so many people love to visit this magical destination found right in their backyard. In addition to Laurie Shuping's passion for travel, she and her husband, Rusty, share a passion for this charming sunflower field, and they work so hard to make it beautiful and accessible to all. They’ve even been featured in the news for creating such a wonderful place for people to visit. Take a look at that article HERE.
There is no cost to visit, and there’s no fee for cutting flowers to make bouquets, which they create a designated week for. You’ll also have the opportunity to donate to One Heart Global Ministries, a Christian non-profit that Laurie has been involved with since 2012. The profits specifically go towards the organization’s missions services which include building churches, developing greenhouses for indigenous people to help with sustainability, and providing medical and dental care. Along with that, they provide a soup kitchen, leadership training, family education, and items like bibles, clothing, and eyeglasses.
Laurie and Rusty love to give back as much as they can. They’ve dedicated much of their lives to helping others and deeply appreciate when others can donate to their cause. When you stop by their sunflower field, if you have it in your heart, the Shupings would be grateful for any contributions you can make.
